LAGOS and the GIDI LIFE

THE RUSH.

Lagos, Nigeria’s largest city, sprawls inland from the Gulf of Guinea across Lagos Lagoon. Victoria Island, the financial center of the metropolis, is known for its beach resorts, boutiques and nightlife. To the north, Lagos Island is home to the National Museum Lagos, displaying cultural artifacts and craftworks. Nearby is Freedom Park, once a colonial-era prison and now a major venue for concerts and public events. Lagos has grown to become one of the fastest growing cities in the world and a home to so many amazing talents and brands that have moved westward  to the rest of the world. Enough of the intro.
     Apart from the night lights, the glamour, the busy roads and enterprising population, what's even more amazing is the life style in Lagos. The city is divided into two, the high land and the main land which clearly defines the boundary between the wealthy and the not wealthy. However, their is a very deep weave between the two social classes that enables the city run smoothly. Labour is moving from the mainland to high lands and funds move from high land to main land. Creating a very balanced society where anybody can become anything. For this reason, Lagos has been tagged the city of excellence and a dream ville, a place where dreams come true and the future is brought to the present. Lagos is called the no mans land because it brings together a blend of several cultures and lifestyles in fact, their is no tribe or language that is not represented in Lagos. Originally a Yoruba town, so the Yoruba culture and language is the most prevalent the Most spoken language is the Yoruba and English language.
     There is a rush to the life in Lagos because of the enemous population that occupy a small Land. People move to Lagos every day to push their craft in every sphere and vocation. It almost seem like one can not reach the peak of his or her trade of craft if the craft has not moved into Lagos yet. Music has been the principal cause for most migration in recent times. Thousands of young people enter into Lagos without an abode or a means of livelihood. Although, a few lucky ones turn out to be successful, a bunch of them end up drug addicts and miscreants that pile up under bridges at night not actually achieving the aim of coming but rather degenerating into something worst than they ever imagined. This poses the big question must I go to Lagos to succeed?
  I don't think so since I see several young people make it out of their city into Lagos. You must not sleep under bridges to make it big. Sure you have to pay your dues in the game but trust me the best way to pay your dues is to run your city.

in fact, The simple trick is win your city and the world will await you. I have respect for artist like erriga and BOC madaki who needed not to go to Lagos to see relevance. So keep it real in your circle and you hood will know you. Keep it real in your hood and your city will know you.
